Go Mobile with Detla’s iPhone App
Sep 6th
I have been requesting a Delta iPhone App for some time now, and I was very pleased when my friend Troy Allen told me it had finally been released in the App Store. I think it is crucial for any competitive airline to have an official iPhone app, as it is a great marketing tool and a great convenience to the frequent flyer. Southwest Airlines has had great success with their iPhone app, they were one of the first in the industry to develop a mobile application.
At first glance the Delta iPhone App works perfectly, it takes advantage of the new retina display on my iPhone 4, the graphics are amazing. Of course, graphics are worthless without functionality. This application allows you to: check in for flights, access your SkyMiles account, access your boarding pass, view upcoming flight schedules, check flight status, get current airport news and weather reports, receive important alerts, and the app is free to use with in-flight wifi. However, one of the most unique features of the application is an option that lets you photograph where you parked your car, even allowing you to save the GPS location.
Delta alludes to the idea that it will be developing an application for the Blackberry and Android platforms in the near future. If you fly Detla, download the free application today, it’s a win!

I was one of the lucky people that got their iPhone 4 a day earlier. I unboxed it live in my daily stream and did the video below for YouTube.
